Our Quality Control Process

We make every attempt to perform the highest quality work on our customers’ vehicles; whether working on routine service jobs or on major transmission rebuilds. We hire only the best and most professional staff and are at the forefront of our industry with our pay and benefit program. In an industry where staff tenure is often measured in weeks and months, all of our staff have been with us from 4 to 11 years. We are continually training our ATRA/ATSG/ASE-certified mechanics and staff on the latest transmission models and technologies – whether mechanical, hydraulic, or, increasingly today, electronic. We also obtain the latest in diagnostic equipment to provide quicker and surer analysis of your vehicle’s problems. In addition, we rebuild our transmissions in an air-conditioned clean room that is separated from our main shop. Our rebuild technicians have their own Internet-based computer in order to be able to quickly access the very latest technical parts and service bulletins for the transmission units we service.

Thorough Cleaning

Every transmission is completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned and inspected for wear to gears, bearings, bushings, shafts, and other precision components.

New Parts

When rebuilding your automatic transmission, National Transmission technicians automatically install new friction clutch plates, sprags, bearings, races, bushings, washers, filter, oil seals, O-rings, and gaskets. On all rebuilds, gears, shafts, shift forks, and drums are replaced if they show excess wear. Our parts replacement procedures assure smooth consistent performance and long transmission life. Our transmission builders are trained and ASE-certified technicians who specialize in rebuilding automatic and manual transmissions. They have rebuilt thousands of transmissions over the years.

Road Testing

Before your vehicle is returned to you our technicians road test your vehicle to ensure that the transmission and drivetrain function properly and that there are no transmission fluid leaks. They make sure your safety is never compromised and that you’re back on the road quickly with minimal expense.
